Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Beaver Beavers (Lisbon, OH), 66-22 in a league bout.
With the victory, Martins Ferry upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Purple Riders travel to Shadyside (Shadyside, OH) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-14. Shadyside lost 60-20 in their recent league bout against River (Hannibal, OH)
Next up, the Beavers play the Oak Glen Golden Bears (New Cumberland, WV) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 22. Beaver will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Golden Bears come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 63-34 non-league win over Brooke (Wellsburg, WV).
