Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) and the host Cook Hornets (Adel, GA), saw Sumter County's basketball squad wallop Cook by a tally of 54-29.

With the victory, Sumter County improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA) to confront the Purple Hurricane in a AA Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Purple Hurricane come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Fitzgerald won 47-27 in their recent league challenge against Cook (Adel, GA)

Next up, the Hornets confront the Irwin County Indians (Ocilla, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 26. Cook will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record.
