The Georgiana Panthers basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting McKenzie Tigers to 31 in the Panthers league triumph on Saturday.
The Panthers now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pleasant Home for a 1A Area 3 contest on Monday, January 22. Georgiana will battle a Eagles team coming off a 51-14 non-league loss to Straughn (Andalusia, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 6-11.
The Tigers (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Shields (Beatrice, AL). The Panthers enter the 1A Area 3 contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Shields ran past Red Level (Red Level, AL), 50-35, in a league contest.
