The Homestead Mustangs basketball team (Cupertino, CA), was overwhelmed 68-39 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA)

The Matadors now possess a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Los Altos for a Santa Clara Valley - De Anza battle on Wednesday, January 24. Monta Vista will confront a Eagles team coming off a 49-48 league win over Fremont (Sunnyvale, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 8-9.

The Mustangs (5-12) will now prepare for their battle against Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA). The Vikings come into the Santa Clara Valley - De Anza battle with a 0-18 record. In their last battle, Palo Alto was overwhelmed by Los Gatos (Los Gatos, CA), 61-10, in a league battle.
