Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Manhattan Catholic Hawks (Manhattan, KS), 60-58 in a league bout.

With the win, Metro Academy upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season.

Next up, the Hawks play the St. Xavier Rams (Junction City, KS) in a Freelance bout, on Monday, January 22. Manhattan Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 40-22 non-league loss to Cornerstone Family (Topeka, KS).
