    The Smithville Smithies basketball team scored 47 points and held the host Northwestern Huskies to 26 in the Smithies league triumph on Saturday.

    The Smithies now sport a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Chippewa for a Wayne County contest on Thursday, January 25. Smithville will meet a Chipps team coming off a 58-30 league win over Dalton (Dalton, OH). The Chipps record now stands at 11-3.

    The Huskies (4-11) will now prepare for their contest against Rittman (Rittman, OH). The Indians enter the Wayne County contest with a 1-13 record.
