In Monday's league contest, the visiting Burlington-Edison Tigers basketball team scored a close 95-89 win over the Lakewood Cougars.
The Tigers (9-5) will now prepare for their contest against Ferndale (Ferndale, WA). The Golden Eagles come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest with a 8-7 record. In their last contest, Ferndale edged Sehome (Bellingham, WA), 55-42, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Lummi Blackhawks (Bellingham, WA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 22. Lakewood will attempt to better on its 10-5 season record. The Blackhawks come into the contest with a 14-2 record after their 63-29 non-league win over Orcas Island (Eastsound, WA).
