In Monday's league contest, the visiting Caldwell Hornets basketball team scored a close 46-40 triumph over the Bellville Brahmas.

The Hornets (11-15) will now prepare for their contest against Navasota (Navasota, TX). The Rattlers go into the 4A Region III District 22 contest with a 20-10 record. In their last contest, Navasota nipped Giddings (Giddings, TX), 59-15, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Brahmas battle the La Grange Leopards (La Grange, TX) in a 4A Region III District 22 contest, on Friday, January 24. Bellville will attempt to better on its 9-15 season record. The Leopards go into the contest with a 20-10 record after their 61-46 league win over Smithville (Smithville, TX).
