The New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) basketball felled the host Columbus Falcons (Columbus, MS), 67-58 in Friday's non-league test.
The Trojans (14-3) will now prepare for their test against Covenant Christian (Tuscumbia, AL). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 19-4 record. In their last test, Covenant Christian thwarted Shoals Christian (Florence, AL), 79-30, in a league test.
The Falcons now own a 14-7 record. They play next when they host Saltillo for a 5A Region 1 test on Tuesday, January 25. Columbus will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 57-56 non-league win over Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 19-3.
