Marshall Mavericks (Marshall, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), 53-22 in a league bout.
With the win, Marshall improves its record to 16-10 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX) to confront the Wildcats in a 5A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, January 25. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-19. Sulphur Springs lost 58-41 in their recent league challenge against Texas (Texarkana, TX)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Sulphur Springs Wildcats (Sulphur Springs, TX) in a 5A Region II District 15 challenge, on Friday, January 28. Pine Tree will attempt to improve on its 4-18 season record.
