Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Basis Yeti (Flagstaff, AZ) and the visiting St. Michael Cardinals (St. Michaels, AZ), saw Basis's basketball squad hold off St. Michael by a count of 73-67.
With the victory, Basis upgrades its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Yeti host Shonto Prep (Shonto, AZ) to play the Grizzlies in a 1A North challenge on Monday, January 23. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a record of 0-10. Shonto Prep lost 68-14 in their recent league challenge against Rock Point (Rock Point, AZ)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Grand Canyon Phantoms (Grand Canyon, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 23. St. Michael will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Phantoms come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 85-44 league loss to Williams (Williams, AZ).
