    The Cypress Creek Cougars (Houston, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Stratford Spartans (Houston, TX), 61-58 in Saturday's league test.

    The Cougars (22-5) will now prepare for their test against Cy-Fair (Cypress, TX). The Bobcats go into the 6A Region III District 17 test with a 10-14 record. In their last test, Cy-Fair was tipped by Jersey Village (Houston, TX), 57-48, in a league test.

    The Spartans now own a 15-10 record. They play next when they host Northbrook for a 6A Region III District 17 test on Tuesday, January 24. Stratford will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 71-35 league loss to Memorial (Houston, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 2-14.
