The East Central Hornets basketball team (Moss Point, MS), was overwhelmed 69-42 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting George County Rebels (Lucedale, MS)

The Rebels now possess a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gautier for a 5A Region 8 battle on Saturday, January 28. George County will confront a Gators team coming off a 104-94 non-league loss to Pearl River Central (Carriere, MS). The Gators record now stands at 1-9.

The Hornets (0-7) will now prepare for their battle against Saraland (Saraland, AL). The Spartans come into the non-league battle with a 6-16 record. In their last battle, Saraland was overwhelmed by Murphy (Mobile, AL), 49-48, in a league battle.
