The Hiawatha Red Hawks (Hiawatha, KS) basketball nipped the visiting Nemaha Central Thunder (Seneca, KS), 47-43 in Saturday's league test.

The Red Hawks (3-9) will now prepare for their test against Perry-Lecompton (Perry, KS). The Kaws go into the non-league test with a 10-3 record. In their last test, Perry-Lecompton got by Jefferson County North (Winchester, KS), 57-27, in a non-league test.

The Thunder now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Marysville for a non-league test on Friday, January 27. Nemaha Central will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 61-52 non-league loss to Atchison (Atchison, KS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-2.
