The Washburn Beavers basketball team (Washburn, ME), was overwhelmed 72-20 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Katahdin Cougars (Sherman Station, ME)
The Cougars now possess a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hodgdon for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 24. Katahdin will confront a Hawks team coming off a 56-53 league loss to Madawaska (Madawaska, ME). The Hawks record now stands at 4-8.
The Beavers (1-11) will now prepare for their battle against Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Fort Fairfield was overwhelmed by Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME), 75-46, in a non-league battle.
