Lakeside Eagles (Nine Mile Falls, WA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), 61-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Lakeside upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Eagles host Deer Park (Deer Park, WA) to play the Stags in a 1A Northeast bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Stags go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Deer Park lost 54-45 in their recent league bout against Freeman (Rockford, WA)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Freeman Scotties (Rockford, WA) in a 1A Northeast bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Scotties go into the bout with a 15-1 record after their 54-45 league win over Deer Park (Deer Park, WA).
