Illinois High School Basketball - Red Bud can't hold off Sparta

The Sparta Bulldogs basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Red Bud Musketeers to 56 in the Bulldogs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trico for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 24. Sparta will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 73-49 non-league loss to Freeburg (Freeburg, IL). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-19.

The Musketeers (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Wesclin (Trenton, IL). The Warriors enter the Cahokia - Illinois contest with a 14-8 record.
