New Mexico High School Basketball - Magdalena tops Mesilla Valley Christian School

January 21, 2023: Magdalena, NM 87825

Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM), 42-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Magdalena upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Steers travel to Animas (Animas, NM) to play the Panthers in a A District 2 bout on Thursday, January 26. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 11-5. Animas won 52-21 in their recent league bout against Reserve (Reserve, NM)

Next up, the SonBlazers play the Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Mesilla Valley Christian School will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 0-16 record after their 48-21 league loss to Mountainair (Mountainair, NM).
