Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Magoffin County Hornets (Salyersville, KY), 56-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Martin County upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign.

Next up, the Hornets play the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls (Booneville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Magoffin County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Owls / Lady Owls come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 55-38 league win over Estill County (Irvine, KY).
