The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates basketball team scored 72 points and limited the visiting Caprock Longhorns to 61 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.

The Pirates now possess a 14-10 record. They play next when they travel to Lubbock for a 5A Region I District 3 game on Friday, January 24. Lubbock-Cooper will play a Westerners team coming off a 65-32 league loss to Amarillo (Amarillo, TX). The Westerners record now stands at 8-17.

With the loss, Caprock falls to 5-20 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX) to play the Dons in a 5A Region I District 3 game on Friday, January 24. The Dons go into the game with a record of 23-3. Palo Duro won 67-49 in their recent league game against Plainview (Plainview, TX)
