The Westmoreland Eagles basketball team scored 44 points and limited the host Essex Trojans to 31 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now have a 8-5 record. They play next when they host Colonial Beach for a Northern Neck game on Wednesday, January 22. Westmoreland will confront a Drifters team coming off a 73-51 league loss to Lancaster (Lancaster, VA). The Drifters record now stands at 4-6.

With the loss, Essex falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Trojans host Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA) to confront the Raiders in a Northern Neck game on Friday, January 24. The Raiders go into the game with a record of 1-7. Rappahannock lost 67-25 in their recent league game against Northumberland (Heathsville, VA)
