Oregon High School Basketball - Grant Union thwarts Powder Valley

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR) and the host Powder Valley Badgers (North Powder, OR), observed Grant Union's basketball team knock off Powder Valley by a score of 64-44.
The Prospectors (11-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Irrigon (Irrigon, OR). The Knights come into the 2A Blue Mountain challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, Irrigon prevailed over Pilot Rock (Pilot Rock, OR), 63-60, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Badgers encounter the Elgin Huskies (Elgin, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon bout, on Thursday, January 23. Powder Valley will attempt to move on its 6-11 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 51-43 league loss to Wallowa (Wallowa, OR).
