The Jackson County Blue Devils (Gainesboro, TN) basketball edged the host Smith County Owls (Carthage, TN), 51-46 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Blue Devils now possess a 14-2 record. They play next when they host Watertown for a 2A District 5 bout on Friday, January 24. Jackson County will play a Purple Tigers team coming off a 43-38 non-league loss to Westmoreland (Westmoreland, TN). The Purple Tigers record now stands at 7-7.
With the loss, Smith County falls to 6-12 on the campaign. The Owls host York Institute (Jamestown, TN) to play the Dragons in a 2A District 5 bout on Friday, January 24. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 0-13.
