The Newport Cubs basketball team scored 49 points and limited the host North Marion Huskies to 42 in the Cubs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cubs now have a 10-4 record. They play next when they host Cascade for a 4A Oregon West game on Friday, January 24. Newport will confront a Cougars team coming off a 57-51 league win over Stayton (Stayton, OR). The Cougars record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, North Marion falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Philomath (Philomath, OR) to confront the Warriors in a 4A Oregon West game on Friday, January 24. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 7-7. Philomath won 48-29 in their recent league game against Sweet Home (Sweet Home, OR)
