New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan holds off Mountainair

The Capitan Tigers basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Mountainair Mustangs to 48 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Tigers now possess a 4-12 record. They play next when they host Lordsburg for a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, January 25. Capitan will confront a Mavericks team coming off a 55-54 non-league win over Animas (Animas, NM). The Mavericks record now stands at 7-8.
With the loss, Mountainair falls to 2-16 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM) to confront the Cougars in a A District 3 game on Thursday, January 23. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 6-10. Alamo Navajo won 56-44 in their recent non-league game against Mountainair (Mountainair, NM)
