The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wakeland Wolverines (Frisco, TX) and the visiting Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX), observed Wakeland's basketball team overwhelm Newman Smith by a margin of 66-39.
The Wolverines (25-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Highland Park (Dallas, TX). The Scots come into the 5A Region II District 12 challenge with a 18-11 record. In their last challenge, Highland Park trounced Turner (Carrollton, TX), 58-13, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Trojans battle the The Colony Cougars (The Colony, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Newman Smith will attempt to better on its 12-9 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 14-13 record after their 43-39 league win over Reedy (Frisco, TX).
