The Cougars (5-10) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Mary's (Remsen, IA). The Hawks come into the non-league challenge with a 7-7 record. In their last challenge, St. Mary's trounced Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA), 43-41, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Jaguars encounter the Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) in a Twin Lakes challenge, on Friday, January 24. Southeast Valley will attempt to improve on its 1-14 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 9-2 record after their 85-31 non-league win over Storm Lake St. Mary (Storm Lake, IA).
