The Section Lions (Section, AL) basketball toppled the host Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors (Huntsville, AL), 47-31 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Lions now possess a 9-12 record. They play next when they travel to Pisgah for a 2A Area 16 bout on Friday, January 24. Section will play a Eagles team coming off a 66-62 non-league loss to North Sand Mountain (Higdon, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Whitesburg Christian Academy falls to 13-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Brindlee Mountain (Guntersville, AL) to play the Lions in a 3A Area 14 bout on Thursday, January 23. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 7-13. Brindlee Mountain lost 52-38 in their recent non-league bout against Kate Duncan Smith DAR (Grant, AL)
