Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) and the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), saw Freedom's basketball squad wallop Watauga by a count of 59-34.

With the victory, Freedom upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Patriots host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge on Tuesday, January 25. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 15-3. Alexander Central won 70-42 in their recent league challenge against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Pioneers play the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge, on Tuesday, January 25. Watauga will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record.
