Virginia High School Basketball - Wythe overwhelmed by Salem

The Salem Spartans basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the visiting Wythe Maroons to 40 in the Spartans non-league victory on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hidden Valley for a River Ridge contest on Tuesday, January 25. Salem will battle a Titans team coming off a 91-54 league loss to Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA). The Titans record now stands at 2-12.
The Maroons (3-9) will now prepare for their contest against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide come into the Mountain Empire contest with a 2-10 record. In their last contest, Galax was routed by Auburn (Riner, VA), 65-35, in a league contest.
