The Wingate Bears basketball team (Fort Wingate, NM), was overwhelmed 69-44 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM)
The Cougars now possess a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rehoboth Christian for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 25. Tohatchi will confront a Lynx team coming off a 45-31 non-league loss to Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Lynx record now stands at 10-2.
The Bears (2-8) will now prepare for their battle against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 battle with a 10-6 record. In their last battle, Crownpoint trounced Newcomb (Newcomb, NM), 74-50, in a league battle.
