The Monmouth United Red Storm basketball team (Monmouth, IL), was nudged 48-43 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars (Oneida, IL)
The Cougars now possess a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Annawan for a Lincoln Trail battle on Monday, January 24. ROWVA/Williamsfield will battle a Braves team coming off a 40-36 non-league loss to Princeville (Princeville, IL). The Braves record now stands at 11-9.
The Red Storm (8-12) will now prepare for their battle against Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 13-7 record. In their last battle, Cuba/Spoon River Valley edged Macomb (Macomb, IL), 37-36, in a non-league battle.
