The Floyd County Buffaloes basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting James River Knights to 45 in the Buffaloes league victory on Monday.

The Buffaloes now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lord Botetourt for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 24. Floyd County will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 65-34 league win over Staunton River (Moneta, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 8-7.

The Knights (5-13) will now prepare for their contest against Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Cougars come into the Three Rivers contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Alleghany prevailed over Patrick County (Stuart, VA), 68-32, in a league contest.
