The Gilbert Yellowjackets basketball team (Winsted, CT), was overwhelmed 96-44 in Monday's league battle with the host Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT)

The Chiefs now possess a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Housatonic-Wamogo for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 25. Nonnewaug will confront a Mountaineers team coming off a 71-48 non-league loss to Terryville (Terryville, CT). The Mountaineers record now stands at 1-11.

The Yellowjackets (0-12) will now prepare for their battle against Wamogo Regional (Litchfield, CT). The Warriors come into the Berkshire battle with a 8-3 record. In their last battle, Wamogo Regional trounced Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT), 67-54, in a league battle.
