Illinois Valley Cougars (Cave Junction, OR) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lowell Devils (Lowell, OR), 77-73 in a league bout.

With the win, Illinois Valley upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Cougars host Gold Beach (Gold Beach, OR) to play the Panthers in a 2A Valley Coast bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Gold Beach won 53-37 in their recent league bout against Waldport (Waldport, OR)

Next up, the Devils play the Monroe Dragons (Monroe, OR) in a 2A Valley Coast bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Lowell will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 68-52 league win over Toledo (Toledo, OR).
