The Thorsby Rebels basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Jemison Panthers to 49 in the Rebels non-league triumph on Monday.
The Rebels now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Central of Coosa County for a 2A Area 7 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Thorsby will meet a Cougars team coming off a 53-46 league win over Thorsby (Thorsby, AL). The Cougars record now stands at 9-7.
The Panthers (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Sylacauga (Sylacauga, AL). The Aggies enter the 5A Area 8 contest with a 13-10 record. In their last contest, Sylacauga nudged Childersburg (Childersburg, AL), 68-63, in a non-league contest.
