The Vernon Vikings basketball team scored 64 points and restricted the host Newton Braves to 49 in the Vikings non-league victory on Monday.
The Vikings now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wallkill Valley for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 24. Vernon will battle a Rangers team coming off a 50-36 league loss to Hackettstown (Hackettstown, NJ). The Rangers record now stands at 6-10.
The Braves (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Lenape Valley (Stanhope, NJ). The Patriots come into the Northwest Jersey - Freedom contest with a 8-7 record. In their last contest, Lenape Valley was defeated by Jefferson Township (Oak Ridge, NJ), 56-40, in a league contest.
