Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) and the visiting Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS), saw Pearl's basketball squad knock off Oak Grove by a count of 81-71.

With the victory, Pearl upgrades its record to 16-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Meridian (Meridian, MS) to play the Wildcats in a 7A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 15-8. Meridian won 73-71 in their recent non-league challenge against Holmes County Central (Lexington, MS)

Next up, the Warriors play the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) in a 7A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Oak Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record.
