Westfield Wolverines (Westfield, NY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Panama Panthers (Panama, NY), 64-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Westfield upgrades its record to 12-1 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Clymer Central (Clymer, NY) to play the Pirates in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - II West bout on Thursday, January 25. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 6-8. Clymer Central won 47-29 in their recent league bout against Maple Grove (Bemus Point, NY)

Next up, the Panthers confront the Frewsburg Bears (Frewsburg, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Panama will attempt to improve on its 9-2 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 46-43 league win over Portville (Portville, NY).
