The Albemarle Patriots basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Orange County Fighting Hornets to 28 in the Patriots league triumph on Monday.

The Patriots now sport a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Louisa County for a Jefferson contest on Tuesday, January 23. Albemarle will meet a Lions team coming off a 69-44 league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Lions record now stands at 2-12.

The Fighting Hornets (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA). The Black Knights enter the Jefferson contest with a 16-0 record. In their last contest, Charlottesville triumphed over Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA), 66-31, in a league contest.
