The Porter-Gaud Cyclones (Charleston, SC) basketball crushed the host Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Columbia, SC), 60-27 in Monday's non-league test.
The Cyclones (13-7) will now prepare for their test against Northwood Academy (Charleston, SC). The Chargers go into the SCISA AAAA Region III test with a 18-2 record. In their last test, Northwood Academy walloped Ashley Hall (Charleston, SC), 72-35, in a league test.
The Cardinals now own a 4-9 record. They play next when they travel to Ben Lippen for a SCISA AAAA Region I test on Wednesday, January 24. Cardinal Newman will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 67-35 league loss to Hammond (Columbia, SC). The Falcons record now stands at 7-11.
