Chatham Cougars (Chatham, NJ) supporters were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Pope John XXIII (Sparta, NJ), 57-47 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, Chatham improves its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Summit (Summit, NJ) to confront the Hilltoppers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 25. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Summit won 45-13 in their recent non-league challenge against Hillside (Hillside, NJ)

Next up, the confront the Montville Mustangs (Montville, NJ) in a Northwest Jersey - National challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Pope John XXIII will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 31-29 league win over Sparta (Sparta, NJ).
