The Chavez Eagles (San Fernando, CA) basketball crushed the host Monroe Vikings (North Hills, CA), 59-17 in Monday's league test.

The Eagles (9-9) will now prepare for their test against Grant (Van Nuys, CA). The Lancers go into the East Valley test with a 8-11 record. In their last test, Grant was trounced by Verdugo Hills (Tujunga, CA), 48-32, in a league test.

The Vikings now own a 0-11 record. They play next when they travel to Arleta for a East Valley test on Wednesday, January 24. Monroe will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 56-16 league win over North Hollywood (North Hollywood, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 13-10.
