The Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) basketball nipped the visiting Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT), 49-47 in Monday's league test.
The Yellowjackets (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Wamogo (Litchfield, CT). The Warriors go into the Berkshire test with a 4-8 record. In their last test, Wamogo was tipped by Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT), 56-25, in a league test.
The Chiefs now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they host Housatonic-Wamogo for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 23. Nonnewaug will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 53-47 non-league loss to Terryville (Terryville, CT). The Mountaineers record now stands at 6-7.
