Weston-McEwen TigerScots (Athena, OR) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR), 54-15 in a league bout.

With the victory, Weston-McEwen upgrades its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The TigerScots travel to Heppner (Heppner, OR) to play the Mustangs in a 2A Blue Mountain bout on Thursday, January 25. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 14-5. Heppner lost 46-24 in their recent league bout against Stanfield (Stanfield, OR)

Next up, the Prospectors play the Prairie City Panthers (Prairie City, OR) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 24. Grant Union will attempt to upgrade on its 1-17 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 35-31 league win over Four Rivers (Ontario, OR).
