The Midland Trail Patriots basketball team (Hico, WV), dropped 47-30 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Greenbrier West Cavaliers (Charmco, WV)
The Cavaliers now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host James Monroe for a Coalfield A battle on Friday, January 26. Greenbrier West will battle a Mavericks team coming off a 65-11 league win over Montcalm (Montcalm, WV). The Mavericks record now stands at 9-5.
The Patriots (3-9) will now prepare for their battle against Independence (Coal City, WV). The Patriots come into the Coalfield AA battle with a 10-2 record. In their last battle, Independence dropped by WestSide (Clear Fork, WV), 44-42, in a league battle.
