Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), 58-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Morgan County upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. The Cougars host Bracken County (Brooksville, KY) to play the Polar Bears in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a record of 7-10.

Next up, the Comets play the Wolfe County Wolves (Campton, KY) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 24. West Carter will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 69-52 league loss to Breathitt County (Jackson, KY).
