Iowa High School Basketball - Xavier can't hold off Wahlert

The Wahlert Golden Eagles basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Xavier Saints to 47 in the Golden Eagles league triumph on Monday.
The Golden Eagles now sport a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson for a Mississippi Valley contest on Tuesday, January 23. Wahlert will battle a Hawks team coming off a 51-43 league loss to Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 3-10.
The Saints (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against Iowa City (Iowa City, IA). The Little Hawks enter the Mississippi Valley contest with a 5-15 record. In their last contest, Iowa City was nudged by Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA), 81-45, in a league contest.
