The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) and the host Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), observed Appomattox County's basketball team knock off Cumberland by a score of 57-44.
The Raiders (10-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Wildcats come into the Dogwood challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Dan River prevailed over Bassett (Bassett, VA), 81-58, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Dukes encounter the Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) in a James River challenge, on Friday, January 24. Cumberland will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 72-46 league loss to Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA).
