The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the La Mirada Matadores (La Mirada, CA) and the host Gahr Gladiators (Cerritos, CA), observed La Mirada's basketball team overwhelm Gahr by a score of 80-57.

The Matadores (20-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Lynwood (Lynwood, CA). The Knights come into the Gateway challenge with a 4-16 record. In their last challenge, Lynwood was routed by Mayfair (Lakewood, CA), 91-64, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Gladiators encounter the Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 25. Gahr will attempt to improve on its 10-12 season record. The Gladiators come into the challenge with a 11-8 record after their 91-29 league win over Maywood CES (Maywood, CA).
